Biography & Accomplishments

Susan M. Pires attended Providence College where she graduated with a Bachelors Providence collegeDegree in Political Science and a SuffolkUniversityMinor in the Black Studies Program in 1997. She later earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School in 2000. During her legal education, Ms. Pires was an advocate for juveniles through the Juvenile Justice Program and was active in the Suffolk Public Interest Law Group and the Black Law Student Association. In May, 2000, Ms. Pires was honored with the Sidney Covich Award for her continued dedication to public interest throughout her legal education.

Ms. Pires is admitted to the Rhode Island Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. She has extensive trial practice in all aspects of Domestic Practice and Familial Immigration Matters. She is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Rhode Island Volunteer Lawyer Program and the Rhode Island Family Bench Bar.

Ms. Pires is conversation in Cape Verdean Kreole and Spanish. In her free time she participates in the administration of legal matters for the Cape Verdean American Community Development.
